EVESHAM’S Golden Leaf Explorer Scouts got stuck in to their environmental project thanks to a donation of equipment and seeds from Twyford Garden Centre.
The unit has an allotment at St Mary’s and collects garden cuttings, which are composted and used to grow fruit and vegetables on the allotment, from the residents of Eastwick Park.
A Scouts spokesman said: “It’s great we plant the seeds, weed and water them then when we go camping in the summer we’ll pick the vegetables and cook what we have grown, while any extra we pick we will give to old people in the town.”
Members of Evesham’s Golden Leaf Explorer Scouts are pictured with their new equipment.
