A WORCESTER PC is all set to plummet 10,000 feet – after losing three stone.

Wayne Hurley, who is the local policing officer for Warndon, lost the weight in preparation for a charity skydive. PC Hurley and Mark Dodkin, the community support officer for Warndon, hope to raise more than £1,200 for road safety charity BRAKE when they make the leap on Saturday, May 29.

The pair, who will only complete their freefall parachuting course the day before, have been busy fund-raising already, with car boot sales and sponsorship adding to their total.

PC Hurley said: “I had to lose weight before I could take part so it was a great motivator. We hope to raise as much money for BRAKE as possible as it is a great charity which works to reduce deaths and injuries on Britain’s roads.

“Mark and I are both very excited – I just hope I remember to pull the cord!”
