THIS month’s meeting took place in St James Chapel due to the village hall being used for the elections.
The meeting was opened by Sylvia welcoming us to the resolutions’ meeting. A subcommittee was formed to decide our entry into the Festival of Angels.
We all helped to fill in a questionnaire with regards to the working conditions some clothes are made under to find out if it would affect us when buying items.
We were asked to all take part in triathlon and various members agreed we could do so jointly. We were also encouraged to take part in ‘swishing’, this is when members get together to swap clothes rather than buying new ones.
The evening then moved on to discuss the resolution, urging the Government to ensure that all fish and meat products sold should have the country of origin on its label. After discussion it was felt we should give discretion to our delegate Val for when she goes to the meeting. The next meeting is in the village hall on June 3 at 7.30pm – ‘Tuneful Tubes’.
