YOUNGSTERS will be enjoying a traditional May fair with an international flavour at the weekend.

Children at Ombersley Endowed First School, Droitwich Road, Ombersley, near Droitwich, will be dancing around the maypole, having pony rides and jumping on the bouncy castle this Saturday.

The annual bash has been organised by the Friends of the School committee. Its chairwoman Diane Collins said the event was about children and parents being able to have “a muck about, have some good food and drink and enjoy themselves.” She said: “Everybody is invited, we’re going to have international food nibbles for tasting and there’s a licensed bar.”

The event, running from noon until 2pm, has an international flavour with youngsters encouraged to wear fancy dress.

There will be a barbecue as well as Indian snacks, Mexican food and Hungarian and French flavours.

Fields sports will be laid on for the youngsters together with traditional summer fete games like whack-a-duck, and the tombola.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and West Mercia Police will also have crews and officers at the event.
