SHOW your dad some well-deserved appreciation this Father's Day (June 20) with a special gift from Grant's, the award-winning family owned blended Scotch whisky.

Whether your dad is a discerning whisky lover or someone who just enjoys the occasional dram, Grant's award-winning Family Reserve is the perfect Father's Day dram - a whisky made for sharing and a great accompaniment to a special occasion.

Research by Grant's Whisky shows that men have little 'He' time to themselves and when asked what they would prefer to be doing, 63 per cent of dads claim they would like more time to pursue their hobbies and interests. Hardworking dads deserve the chance for a wind down with their favourite blend every now and then and to pursue his personal interests, which is why the Grant's After Hours Club at grantswhisky.com/afterhours was launched.

The Grant's After-Hours Club has proved popular with this generation of dads who spend much of their time ferrying their kids around, giving them very little time to do their own thing after a busy day at work. Recognising that much of their unwinding time is spent surfing the net, the Grant's Club includes areas for a music room and a whisky bar as well as a garden terrace - all giving expert advice from celebrity ambassadors, quizzes and competitions to win richer, deeper experiences and a chance to interact with like-minded members who enjoy the complex tastes of the blend.

Be sure that your dad is signed up to the Grant's After Hours Club which gives time-stretched dads the chance to chill out in the comfort of their own home and indulge in some of their favourite things - just what father's need. Why not show your dad some appreciation this Father's Day and discover a different angle on his favourite blend by mixing him up the ultimate Father's Day Cocktail - The Grant's Godfather.

The Grant's Family Reserve Whisky is priced from £13.79 and is available at all leading supermarkets and off licences.

A little history

Celebrated on the third Sunday of June in 52 of the world's countries and on other days elsewhere, Father's Day is a day to celebrate fatherhood and male parenting, and to honour and commemorate fathers and forefathers. The first modern celebration of a "Father's Day" was an event held on 5th July, 1908, in Fairmont, West Virginia, by Grace Golden Clayton who chose the Sunday nearest to the birthday of her father, Methodist minister Fletcher Golden.

· Grant's is produced by William Grant & Sons, an award-winning family-owned distiller founded by William Grant in 1886 and today still controlled by his direct descendants. The Company distils some of the world's leading brands of Scotch whisky, including Grant's, the world's favourite single malt Glenfiddich, and the handcrafted range of The Balvenie single malts, as well as selected other spirits, including Hendrick's Gin.

· Grant's range of cask finished and aged blended Scotch whiskies include Grant's Cask Reserves, created by 'finishing' Grant's Family Reserve in either ale or sherry casks before bottling. Grant's 12 Year Old is the only blend to spend an extra finishing period in American oak cask, producing a full bodied Scotch of exceptional richness.

· Five generations and over 100 years since its creation, the flagship of the Grant's range of blended Scotch whiskies, Grant's Family Reserve, reasserted its credentials as one of the whisky industry's greats by scooping Gold at the prestigious 2009 International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC). The International Wine and Spirit Competition Medals and trophies are the most prestigious honours awarded in the trade, representing the best of the best in the world of wine and spirits.
