Climate Change Part 9

Climate Change Part 9 Climate Change Part 9

OVER the years I have studied the climate I have witnessed a shift of seasons. Apart from the past three summers which turned out extremely wet, I have noticed an increase in hotter drier spells with these intervals lingering into our autumn. With summer weather continuing into the autumn season the foliage of the trees tend to hang on longer than they use to. I have noticed leaves still hanging on well into November and in some years early December.

Again, the past two winters have been much colder, especially the winter just gone ( the coldest for 30 years) but prior to those two winters, the UK was enjoying milder winter seasons. I have heard through the grapevine that milder winters will return, with the past few winters just a colder phase. Up until 2008 bud burst and the appearance of foliage on the trees was visible in February early March, everything came in 3-4 weeks earlier, this year due to the colder winter, we were 4 weeks behind with flowers blooming at the time they use to many years ago.
