A FLOWER festival is being held in the village of Leigh, near Bransford, for the first time in 10 years.
The event is being held in two of the most historic buildings in the parish, the 12th century St Edburga church and the 14th century tithe barn, the largest of its type in England. The festival starts at 7pm on Friday, June 18, with a preview of the flower arrangements in the church, followed by drinks and entertainment in the barn. Tickets are £7.50.
The church will then be open from 11am on both Saturday and Sunday, June 19 and 20. Lunches and teas will be served at Leigh Court, with an opportunity to enjoy a stroll around the court’s gardens. A craft fair will be held in the barn.
Programmes, costing £5 and covering admission to the church, craft fair and gardens, will be on sale and free parking available.
