TWO cyclists were taken to hospital after a number of riders collided during a race in Worcestershire.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Admiral Rodney Inn in Berrow Green, near Martley, shortly after 11.30am this morning. Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were dispatched to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival at the scene crews found a number of cyclists that had been in collision during a cycle race.
“A man, believed to be in his 50s, was treated on scene for a head injury.
"He was immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar before being conveyed to Worcestershire Royal for further assessment and treatment.
“A woman, believed to be in her 40s, was treated on scene for a fractured collar bone before being conveyed to the same hospital.
“Crews also treated a number of other cyclists involved in the incident for minor injuries.
"No one else required further hospital treatment.”
