THE president of a national community organisation will be walking through Worcestershire next month.
Malcolm Lockey, will be passing through Stoulton on Friday, July 9, as part of his Millennium Way walk, a 100-mile walk across the middle of England to kick off his tenure as President of 41 Club.
Mr Lockey is undertaking the walk to raise the profile of 41 Club, also known as The Association of ex-Round Tablers’ Clubs, and its chosen charity for the year, The Ocean Youth Trust.
He is stopping at clubs along the way for dinners, social activities and even a game of skittles.
The walk will completed over a period of 10 days, taking Mr Lockey from Banbury and finishing in Pershore on Saturday, July 10. Mr Lockey is looking forward to his visit to Stoulton.
He said: “I know I’ll be greeted with a very warm welcome.”
“The 41 Club here in Stoulton always provides great hospitality. The visits and activities planned for along the way mean that our mission – fun, fellowship and community service – will be fulfilled in its entirety, and what better way to promote 41 Club to the outside world?”
