THE annual Shakespeare Festival has taken place at a Worcester school.
Run by the English department at the Christopher Whitehead Language College in Bromwich Road, the event involves all year sevens at the school.
Year six pupils from the school’s feeder primary schools, governors and friends of the school were invited to an afternoon with a Shakespearean theme.
Activities included performances based on A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a shadow puppet show, extensive displays based on Shakespeare’s plays, costume design, make-up and hair designs for different characters, script work; directing, stage management and programme and poster designs.
The afternoon ended with refreshments based on Elizabethan recipes.
Pupil Chloe Hampshire said: “We’ve learnt a lot about Shakespeare in a very active way.”
