Psychics of the world unite to find missing cat

A PET loving couple have enlisted the help of psychics from around the world to find their lost cat.

Chris Morag and Jo Manuschka took the unusual step because they were desperate to know what had happened to ginger tom Splosh, who went missing 12 weeks ago.

They have also hired a Malvern map dowser, who tries to locate him by swinging a pendant over a map.

Their dedicated efforts have so far cost them close to £500 and countless hours of their time but they still do not know what has happened to the four-year-old cat they call their teddy bear.

Ms Manuschka said: “We heard from six or seven psychics, one said he was definitely dead and a fox had taken him away. The others said he was still alive.”

Although unsure whether to believe the psychics, the couple are still searching the locations they gave.

The psychics, who live all over the world, offered their services free although the couple have since paid another psychic for help.

Ms Manuschka, of the Hidage, Littleworth, near Worcester, said: “The dowser said he is half a mile to a mile away to the north near where they want to build Worcester parkway, where three railway lines make a triangle.

“We go out and search, calling, and then we’ve got a colour flyer and that goes through all the letterboxes.

“They can go up to 20 miles so we’ve only just begun.

“It’s the not knowing. If something dies you can grieve, bury it, but the not knowing where he is, it’s like torture. It’s terrible.

“We won’t ever give up. It’s like an obsession now.”

The couple last saw Splosh, who has a long tail with distinctive white hoops and a ginger half moon on a white chest, near their home on Friday, April 23.

When he did not return in three days, they leafleted their village and sent posters to every vet, cattery and re-homing centre in Worcestershire. They have also offered a reward for information, whether it leads to good or bad news.

Some people have suggested they just buy a new cat but Ms Manuschka said: “I just ignore them. You have to do what makes you happy.

“We won’t replace him, we just want him back. Doing this makes us feel better, we are not hurting anybody.”

Less time (and money) wasted on psychics with crystals, dowsing rods and fairtrade sandals, and more time out there looking I reckon.

Obviously these "psychic" con-men won't be able to find the cat, but they certainly saw this couple coming!

Don't they need a psychic cat to find another cat, not a human psychic? Blimey what a pointless waste of time and money. If it's coming back, it will. If it's not - move on! There are plenty of children who would like love and care by the way - perhaps they could consider that.

I think I must be psychic! After all, I could have told them everything the pyschics did. Cats can travel long journeys, especially if they don't like their owners, or fancy living somewhere else. This cat is either a) alive or b) dead. And its could well be a mile to the north.
To be honest, its either been hit by a car and crawled off somewhere private to die, as most cats do, or its joined Shergar in a chicken balti!!
How exactly do these "psychics" work? Do they talk to the dead? Can they talk to dead animals, yet they can't understand live animals?
That poor old Malvern map dowser, he's found a cat, yet he missed out on the Staffordshire gold horde!!

On a serious note - I do hope that they get the cat back, safe and sound. Or at least find out what happened to him.

I'm not entirely certain that employing the services of some wirey-haired, sesame seed eating, blanket wearing spouter of all things nonsensical is the best way to go about it though....

More posters on lamp-posts, in shop windows and through peoples' letterboxes. That's the way forward.

Funny how the psychics didn't predict that...

@ Avante.

Here's a test of your psychic powers. Can you guess what name I am calling you right now?

"Where's that Cooking Fat" - well I think that's what they said.

Well, have the world's great minds managed to locate it yet? I think we should be told.

I would find out for myself but the web link at the foot of the article seems kaput.

it's rare for cats to travel far. your best bet is to leaflet your area, leave food out and keep an eye out for the cat. as for the psychics, do what you feel is right. hire one that will go with you to find the cat. not as stupid as it sounds. on the subject of energy why not act as if the cat is still with you. your life is a mirror of how you feel. it might return or lead to the closure that is missing amongst all your angst. good luck
