Looking into past was a big attraction

VISITORS of all ages became forensic scientists for a week to celebrate archaeology at the Commandery in Sidbury, Worcester.

Marieke Van Straaten was just one of many to inspect Roman relics and other recent finds in the area using archaeological techniques.

The week of free events celebrated the British Festival of Archaeology.

Sarah Bourne, events and visitors service officer, said: “The whole week was very successful. We had something for everyone and a lot of people of all ages got involved. Some people stayed for a whole day because there was so much to do and it opened up a whole new visitor base for us. It’s the first time we have carried out a week’s worth of events.”
