Tipple hits the right note

A BREWERY has developed a real ale in honour of the Worcester Music Festival.

Organisers of the annual event, which takes place later this month, teamed up with Teme Valley Brewery to give festival-goers a unique drinking experience.

The brewery, based in Knightwick, near Worcester, has now developed the tipple, called Moody Booze.

It will be available in city centre pubs throughout the festival, which runs from Friday, August 20, to Sunday, August 22, as part of the main Worcester Festival.

The ale’s name was chosen following a competition among local music fans.

More than 50 suggestions were sent to organisers via e-mail and Facebook before festival committee members chose their 14 favourites. A public vote was held to select the most popular.

The winning name came courtesy of 26-year-old Matt Bird, a local teacher and musician, who has now won a gallon of Moody Booze.

“I’m over the moon,” said Mr Bird, who will be playing with two bands, The Oohz and The Arquettes, during this year’s festival.

“Worcester has a tremendous community spirit for a city its size and it’s always good to be a part of this.

“I'm looking forward to trying ‘my’ beer at the music festival.”
