Six people involved with a clamping firm have appeared in court charged with making unwarranted demands for cash with menaces.

Simon Barry, aged 36, of Lilac Close, Evesham, Christopher Cartwright, 30, of Salisbury Drive, Kidderminster, Lloyd Isherwood, 37, of Groveley Lane, Birmingham, Andrew Minshull, 37, of Hatfield Close, Redditch, Faisal Qadeer, 33, of Mount Pleasant, Redditch and Debbie Worton, 41, Hatfield Close, Redditch did not enter a plea when they appeared at Reddtich Magistrates Court today.

All worked for Midland Parking Contracts (MPC).

The alleged offences were carried out between January 1, 2006 and May 1, 2009.

The precise charge read that they acted "to gain for themselves or another or with contempt to cause loss for another conspire with other persons to make unwarranted demands of money with menaces".

The case was adjoured until December 6 at Worcester Crown Court.

All were bailed on condition they attended the next court hearing and were not involved in any parking control measures.
