AN Evesham business which makes innovative products to combat crime and fraud around the world has been visited by Mid-Worcestershire MP Peter Luff 10 years after he laid its foundation stone.

Mr Luff returned to the headquarters of Foster + Freeman on Vale Park.

During the visit, Mr Luff met the company’s managing director Bob Dartnell and was given a tour of the manufacturing facility before taking a closer look at some of the company’s high specification instruments, with a particular focus on products with applications in the fields of immigration and counter terror.

Established in 1978, Foster + Freeman has become one of the foremost forensic science equipment suppliers in the world, exporting market-leading products to more than 140 countries.

It specialises in the design and manufacture of systems for the examination of documents, fingerprints, trace evidence and shoe prints.

Mr Luff said: “It was a real pleasure to get to know such an innovative constituency company.

“I was greatly impressed by the technology employed by Foster + Freeman in the manufacture of its products, the success it has enjoyed since moving to Evesham and the company’s commitment to support local industry wherever possible.

“It’s clear to me that Foster + Freeman provide the driving force behind innovation and development in their industry and Worcestershire should feel proud to have such a business in the county. The company deserves special congratulations for their phenomenal export success with over 90 per cent of everything they produce being exported.”
