ENGLAND goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton says Robert Green should be given another chance to play for his country.
Speaking at the British Sporting Heroes Past and Present exhibition at Worcester Cathedral, Shilton, who won a record-breaking 125 caps for his country, hopes fellow keeper Green’s international career won’t be over after his mistake against the USA during the World Cup.
Surrounded by sporting memorabilia, including the Premier League trophy, the 60-year-old said he had sympathy for Green. He said: “I still feel he should have an England future and I hope he can play himself back into the squad.”
The exhibition features up to 60 sports personalities, from 100 years ago to the present day, from 10 major sports such as athletics, football, cricket and golf.
It runs until Monday, August 30.
