REVIEW by Flora Drury
Published by Bloomsbury Books, Paperback, RRP £6.99, Hardback: RRP £12.99
THERE is a war brewing between the immortals - and one very mortal girl has found herself in the middle of it.
Cathy returns with her second diary in “Cathy’s Key”, which begins, six months after we last heard from her, on a bus from St Louis and a familiar face.
There are more secrets for Cathy and best friend Emma to uncover - as well as the nagging problem of a man who will stop at nothing to keep Cathy to himself.
And, as they learn more about the world of the immortals, there are revelations which will turn Cathy’s world upside down and leave her questioning everything she has ever known.
Again, the book is linked to an online world at doubletalkwireless.com, which allows readers to interact with the storyline in a way which would not have been possible 10 years ago.
One rather suspects it is this innovation which got the book noticed in the first place: as with the first one, the characters are not believable or, in fact, very likeable.
