A TRADITIONAL variety show will help raise funds for Worcester’s theatre scene.
The Friends of the Swan Theatre is staging its annual fundraising show on Friday, September 17, and the following Saturday. The theatre show, combining comedy, music and dance, will raise much-needed funds for the Swan Theatre in the Moors while promoting local talent.
Top of the bill is comedian Barry North.
Last year’s show raised an impressive £6,000 for the theatre which recently underwent a refurbishment, but still needs financial support.
Tony Langford, who is producing this year’s show, said: “There’s always ongoing costs, extra maintenance or equipment that needs buying. We’re just doing out bit to keep the theatre going.
“We’ve got a lot of local talent and it needs to be supported.”
The show will feature performances by an 11 year old ventriloquist, champion Irish dance team, and youngsters from Worcester school Academy Dance.
For tickets, priced £10, call the box office on 01905 611427.
