BURGLARS tricked their way into the home of a frail and elderly woman and stole cash.
Three men tricked their way into an address in Albert Road, off Wyld’s Lane, Worcester, at 11.30am on Friday.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police wouldn't reveal how much money was stolen and said the information was ‘confidential’.
The men, who used a black car, drove off towards London Road.
It is believed that the vehicle was parked in Victoria Avenue until shortly before the incident with one or more men in it.
A police spokesman said: “We continue to urge everyone – not just the elderly and vulnerable – to be totally sure of who is trying to gain access to their home before letting them do so.
“We also advise those who feel vulnerable to nominate a neighbour who they can call on to be with them when they ask a caller to visit them later.”
Anyone who saw the incident – or male strangers around the general area shortly before the crime – are asked to contact police on 0300 333 300, quoting 257S/030910. Information can also be given – anonymously – to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
