INTREPID walkers have taken part in an eight-mile walk to raise money for a charity which helps people with post-traumatic stress.

Malvern Hills District Council chairman Mike Morgan joined 29 walkers and two dogs for the walk at the end of August. It took them from St Michael’s caravan park in Tenbury Wells to Wigley Orchard caravan park in Stoke Bliss.

The walk was organised by park owners Brian and Sandra Griffiths to raise money for Healing Hands Network, a small UK charity which sends volunteer complementary therapists to treat people suffering from post-traumatic stress and other mental and physical problems following war or disaster.

Walkers included caravan owners from both parks and friends and family, including Mr Griffith’s brother Edward who had travelled from New Zealand to take part.

The walk was followed by a party in the afternoon to celebrate the couple’s 25 years at Wigley Orchard and their 35th wedding anniversary.

The event raised more than £1,500 for the charity.

Director Tricia Blaxill said: “It’s a fantastic sum to have raised and we are absolutely thrilled.”
