WORCESTER residents are bagging the chance to help a national charity by donating their unwanted goods.

People are being invited to donate unwanted items to the British Heart Foundation throughout September as part of the BIG Donation.

The BIG Donation is the charity’s biggest stock appeal and enables people to take a bag and donate unwanted good quality things such as clothes and shoes, which can then be sold in the charity shops.

A spokeswoman for the event said: “It’s a different initiative. Because of the recession, we decided not to ask people to donate money and our charity shops bring in a lot of our money.”

Unwanted items can be left at the donation point outside Cafe Aroma in Cathedral Plaza on Friday and Saturday and also on Friday and Saturday, September 17 and 18.

To donate larger items such as furniture and electrical items, people can call the charity on 0844 4125000 to have them collected for free.
