REPAIRS to a road damaged after a water main burst could take until the weekend to fix.
The A44 Bromyard Road in Worcester could be shut until Sunday after the main ruptured.
Water was left bubbling up through a split in the road after the leak was reported at about 4pm, yesterday.
Engineers from Severn Trent Water managed to fix the main by 11pm last night.
But the damage to the road will need a repair lasting several days according to Worcestershire County Council road bosses who said it was "a big job".
The road is shut between Watery Lane and Broadway Grove, with traffic diverted along Bransford Road.
A spokeswoman for Severn Trent said 21 customers had been cut off after the leak, but most had been businesses.
