THREE youths and a teenage girl have been arrested after three cars were vanalised.

The four were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and bailed to return to Worcester Police Station after the girl apparently filmed the incident on her mobile phone.

The damage was caused in the car park off St Peter’s Church Lane in Droitwich between 7.30pm and 7.50pm on Sunday, September 12.

After the youths were arrested in the act of damaging a fourth vehicle - causing approximately £1,000 worth of damage to a red Seat Ibiza – police, elsewhere in the town, seized the girl’s mobile phone, which contains video footage of youths running and jumping over a silver Ford Ka, a yellow Seat Ibiza and a silver Citroen works van.

The owners/drivers of the three empty vehicles are being sought by Droitwich Police.

A police spokesman said: “By the time the video footage was first seen by officers, three of the targeted vehicles had left and - to date - the owners have not contacted us to report damage, probably because they don’t know when or where it was caused.

“The vehicles could be local or from some distance away. We hope that media coverage will help identify who owns them so that we can complete a comprehensive enquiry - and the owners will be able to claim compensation.”

The spokesman added that officers currently have no other way of identifying the vehicles and/or the owners.

Anyone wanting to respond to the police appeal should ring them on 0300 333 3000, quoting 747S/120910.
