A GROUP of American students had a taste of Worcester’s history when they toured the Guildhall.
The group of 22, from all over the United States, enjoyed a long weekend with a host family in the city en route to the University of London for the next academic year.
Mayor of Worcester Councillor Mike Layland said: “The students were very polite, knowledgable, and thrilled to learn about and take pictures of our heritage. Coming from the United States they’d never seen anything like it.”
He also spent several hours after the tour talking with various members of the group, discussing the numerous differences between English and American culture.
“It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and it seemed they didn’t want to leave,” said Coun Layland.
