Myths and legends will come to life this summer.

Imagination will be running wild at Worcester Art Gallery and Museum during the school summer holidays with a host of activities all based around the magical theme of myths and fairytales.

From Tuesday, July 25 seven to 12 year olds can join artist Sally Harper to create felt handbags, scarves and jewellery. On Tuesday, August 1 One, Two, Zebra Zoo returns to the gallery. The puppet show is a medley of singalong stories with rhythms from West Africa, South Africa and England.

On Tuesday, August 8 and Wednesday, August 9, local potter Jon Williams will help families create wild mythical beasts out of clay and on Wednesday, August 14 the Wands, Wings and Enchantment workshop is an opportunity to use textiles and glitter to add a sparkle to fairytale creations.

On Tuesday, August 22 five to nine year olds can take part in a colla-graph print workshop with professional artists Adrienne Craddock. The holiday finale is a chance to explore the strong images from fairytales and myth using a traditional linocut process.

Spaces on the workshops, priced £4 for children and £6 for adults, are limited so booking is essential. For more information contact the gallery on 01905 25371.
