Worcester News readers can quiz editor Kevin Ward while they do their shopping at a special event in a city supermarket today (Friday).

The Sainsbury’s store in St John’s will be hosting a Meet The Editor event from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

Mr Ward will be in the supermarket ready to answer your questions or take your stories.

So if you have ever wanted to know more about how the Worcester News and its website is put together, or how to start a career in journalism, or even if you just want to tell the editor about a story you think we should be covering then today is your chance.

Our promotional staff will also be handing out free gifts to readers who buy a copy of the Worcester News at Sainsbury’s.

Mr Ward said: “Sainsbury’s has come up with this initiative as part of the St John’s store’s community involvement.

“I regularly give talks to local community groups but this gives me a chance to hear first-hand from readers what they think of the Worcester News – and it gives readers a chance to ask me whatever they want about Worcestershire’s only daily newspaper.

“I’m looking forward to a fascinating couple of hours.”

Gavin Jones, manager of the St John's store, said: “We are delighted to be able to give our customers and colleagues this opportunity to meet Kevin Ward. Sainsbury’s St Johns is very excited to be working in partnership with the Worcester News.

"We are thrilled about this event and are hopeful that a story could emerge from a customer or colleague. This is also an ideal chance for anyone to find out more about how the paper works and is produced.”
