KEEN photographers have just over a week to send in their autumnal pictures and be in with a chance of winning this year’s Snap and Win competition.

Nearly 100 entries have been submitted so far, with plenty of stunning photography on show.

The Snap and Win competition, being run by your Worcester News with the King’s School, Worcester, and Jessops, has the theme of autumn.

Winter may have descended on us a little early this year but there are still plenty of great picture opportunities out there. However, time is running out to show us your talent as the closing date is Saturday, December 11.

So why not grab your camera and start snapping?

Worcester News picture editor Jonathan Barry is impressed with the quality of the entries so far.

He said: “There are so many colours and some great light at this time of year.

“The key is to keep your camera on you at all times and keep your eye open for a scene that may be a little more unusual, stunning or colourful, that will really stand out from the crowd.

“We want to get some really creative shots sent in to us, and the prizes on offer are fantastic, so get snapping.”

Russ Mason, marketing director for the King’s School, Worcester, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to show off your talent and also get your photographs published in the paper. We hope to get a really diverse set of photos sent to us.”

There are three age categories: under-11s, 11 to 18, and over-18s, with great prizes for each. The under-11s winner will receive an Olympus 5020, 5x optical zoom; the 11 to 18 winner will scoop a Nikon Coolpix S4000 and the over-18s will win a Canon Powershot x210.

The top 10 photographs will be chosen from each category before a team of judges, including Worcester News editor Kevin Ward and the King’s School, Worcester, headteacher Tim Keyes, select the winners.

To enter, send your pictures, with your name, age, address and telephone number to yournews@worcesternews.co.uk with the title ‘Snap and Win’.
