A PIT bull terrier seized by police in a dangerous dog case has cost £3,000 to house as the prosecution drags on.

At Worcester Magistrates Court, magistrates were asked to adjourn the case of Anthony Butler, who is accused of owning a dangerous dog and growing cannabis.

The court was told that Butler could not attend court because he had been sent to a psychiatric hospital.

Matt Dodson, prosecuting, said the case needed resolving as kennel costs for the dog were already at £3,000.

He said Butler, aged 19, of Edgeworth Close, Worcester, intended to fight as hard as he could to save the dog.

The case was adjourned until Wednesday, February 2.
