TWO men have been taken to hospital after a road smash in Herefordshire.
The crash happened on the Ledbury to Bromyard road last night at around 10.45pm just past The Oak Public House, a few miles out of Ledbury.
Two ambulances and an incident support officer were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When crews arrived they found two cars that had suffered extensive damage. There were bits of engine lying across the road from one of the vehicles. It was foggy at the scene.
“A 17-year-old Malvern man was trapped in the wreckage of the vehicle he was driving. He had suffered a broken leg and possible fracture to his shoulder. He was also not fully conscious.
“Firefighters worked with ambulance staff to free the teenager before he was taken on blue lights to Hereford County Hospital.
“The driver of the other vehicle, a man in his 50s from the Ledbury area, was already out of his vehicle. However, he was complaining of pain in the side of his neck so was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board as a precaution. He was also taken to Hereford County Hospital.”
