JERZY, an affectionate lovable two-year-old boxer dog, is hoping to find a new owner.

The stray, who was picked up by a dog warden, was taken to Danemere Kennels, Tibberton, near Worcester, where he has been since April.

The kennel staff have tried to find a new home for him, but nobody has come along to take him in.

Kennel supervisor Dave Lannie says: "He is great with people and he is very affectionate but he doesn't get on with other dogs.

"We are looking for a quiet home with no children and no other dogs or cats.

"He has a heart murmur and if there are children he might be tempted to try to keep up with them."

He said Jerzy does not need vigorous exercise because of his condition but he does like company, so someone who works part-time or from home would be ideal. Before Jerzy or any of Danmere's dogs and cats go to new homes they are vaccinated, wormed, cleared of fleas, microchipped and (providing they are old enough) neutered.

Danemere is a registered charity and relies on donations to continue its work. If anyone is interested in giving Jerzy a home, or any of the other animals at the kennels, contact Danemere Kennels on 01905 345655.

Rehoming opening hours are 11am until 4pm, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
