A FREE health check is being offered to people in Worcester.

The “MOT” checks will be carried out by health advisers on behalf of NHS Worcestershire, which manages county healthcare at CrownGate Shopping Centre, Worcester, between 10am and 1pm on Monday, February 21.

The team, including stop smoking experts and health trainers, will be travelling around the county, offering checks which include blood pressure and BMI (body mass index) tests.

Claire Lojko, NHS Worcestershire’s senior health trainer, said: “We will be on hand at the event offering free support, encouragement and motivation to help those people to reach healthier weight and other lifestyle goals.

“It is hoped the checks will help people have a greater understanding of their own health, as well as preventing illnesses and promoting good health.

“For those people found to be at risk, it allows them to make changes to help prevent future illness.”
