FIREFIGHTERS were kept busy last night with a number of fires around Worcestershire.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue were called to a house fire in Bewdley and to the Star Hotel Inn and Hotel in Upton-upon-Severn last night, as well as a number of smaller incidents.

HWFRS were called to the house fire in Welch Gate, Bewdley, at 10.10pm and found a three storey home on fire.

Reports from the blaze described the roof as “well alight”.

The fire at The Star Hotel, on the high street, started in the outside bar but spread to the second floor of the next building.

The fire service was called at 10.55pm and sent appliances from Upton, Pershore and Tewkesbury.
