A MAN has been arrested in connection with the hit and run near Evesham this weekend.
The arrest follows the discovery of a man in his 20s lying in the middle of the A46 Cheltenham Road, near to the football ground, at about 2.30am on Sunday morning.
The man had suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch where he remains in a stable condition.
A man in his 20s was arrested at Cheltenham Police Station later that day on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.
PC Tony Paxton said: “We are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident itself or a grey-coloured Audi being driven along the road around the time stated.”
