A NEW director of education has been appointed for the diocese of Worcester.
Ann Mundy will be responsible for the 98 primary and three secondary Church of England schools in Worcestershire and Dudley.
Mrs Mundy, who is currently the deputy director of education, will take over from Rev David Morphy and Bernard Peters, who have shared the director’s role.
She said: “I am delighted to be appointed as the next diocesan director of education in the diocese of Worcester.
I have really enjoyed working with schools in the diocese in supporting and strengthening their Christian distinctiveness.
“I look forward to continuing that work through promoting the aim of the department to promote lifelong learning within the church and community for our personal, spiritual, moral, social, cultural and economic development.”
Mrs Mundy has previously worked in primary schools in Herefordshire, and was the head teacher at a voluntary aided church school in Hereford for 10 years. She starts her new role on May 1.
