OLDBURY Park Tigers stormed to a 4-0 win over titlechasing Kidderminster Lions in the Mercian Festival Junior League Under 16s Division One.

After a disappointing start to the season, Tigers fielded virtually a full-strength side for the first time and defended well to snuff out Lions’ large amount of possession.

Despite losing keeper Jamie Oliver to an early injury, the hosts went ahead on 12 minutes when James Day turned in Martin Welsby’s cross.

Max Price fired home a 25- yarder from Mark Waldren’s pass to make it two and Tom Baker netted with a free-kick from similar distance.

Waldren completed the scoring after good work from David Walker, Josh Newbold and constant threat Baker.

Nunnery Wood Wolves beat Kidderminster Lions Youth 3-1 in a top-of-the-table Division Two clash.

Wolves failed to score from 12 chances in the first period but Jamie Molyneux broke the deadlock after the break with a stunning strike.

The Worcester side defended impressively, while the midfielders distributed well which led to a second goal finished off by Josh Lloyd.

Lions roared back with a wind-assisted long-range effort and chased an equaliser but Lloyd set up Molyneux to make the game safe two minutes from time.

UNDER 14s: Brandon Beasant was the match-winner as Northside Tigers saw off Rushwick Youth 2-1 in Division One.

In a fine match despite the strong winds, Tigers opened the scoring as John Lee converted a Ross Joyner corner.

Rushwick hit back and equalised in the second-half thanks to a fine solo goal, despite good goalkeeping and fine defending from Tigers’ player-ofthe- match Sandro Cardoso.

Beasant won the game with a 25-yard strike before Liam Smart and Pedro Garcia were denied by a fine display from the visitors’ keeper.

UNDER 10s: Division Two leaders Warndon Villages Cougars recorded a 4-0 win at Nunnery Wood Kestrels.

Defender Cameron Kemp opened the scoring with a longrange effort mid-way through the first period.

Cory Burrow’s fine effort made it two at half-time.

The second-half was oneway traffic with skipper Marshall Seldon and sub Miles Watts adding to the tally.

à Warndon Villages Sharks are joint top of Cheltenham Youth League Under 13s Division One after struggling to a 1-0 win at Gotherington Juniors.

In tricky conditions, James Ridge’s volley was well saved, while Liam Dayus cleared off the line at the other end and keeper Harry Stanley made a fine save.

Sharks went one goal up before the interval though when Matt Sowden was fouled in the box and Connor Thomasson dispatched the penalty.

Stanley and Dayus did well to ensure the visitors kept a clean sheet against a lively attack. Andy Murphy went close to sealing the win but was denied by a good save.

à Eckington Juniors drew 0-0 with Shipston United in a tight Ambassador Evesham League Under 10s Pool ‘A’ clash.

The strong wind was a great leveller but Jack Green hit the post and blazed wide for the hosts.

UNDER NINES: Eckington Juniors came out on top 3-1 in a battle of the Pool ‘A’ high-fliers with Alcester Town Juniors.

A mix-up presented the visitors with a first-half lead but Eckington equalised with a Ben Oliver strike.

Oliver again sliced through the defence to score a second and Max Brothwood curled in a free-kick.
