A MURDER investigation into the death of an Evesham man has prompted a good response from the public.

West Mercia Police has issued a thank you to the public for their help.

A 53-year-old man was found dead by officers at 10.45am at a house in Brick Kiln Street on Sunday.

Following an appeal for information from those living in the area, senior investigating officer in the case, temporary detective superintendent Paul Williamson, said: “We have had a good response from the house to house enquiries that have taken place.

“Enquiries are continuing and CCTV opportunities are being looked at today.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank members of the local community for their assistance with our investigation so far.”

A female in her teens was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday and remains in custody at Worcester Police Station while enquiries continue.
