SINGERS, dancers and comedians put on a dazzling display at a Worcester primary school to show they really have got talent.

The Gorse Hill’s Got Talent event has been hailed a huge success with about 80 pupils taking part.

The day, held just before half-term, followed the same format at the popular TV show Britain’s Got Talent with three judges voting for the best acts.

Among those performing was seven-year-old Marcel Ratajewski, under the name Marvellous Marcel, who danced to the MC Hammer classic Can’t Touch This.

Jakub Brydak and Chardenay O’Brien, both seven, performed as Danny and Sandy from Grease to the song We Go Together.

The top prize for the best boy went to Brooklyn Davies who threw some shapes in impressive street dance routine.

Best girl was Lara De Silva, aged six, who performed as Cheryl Cole.

The school council and assistant headteacher Robert Harrison came up with the idea.

Mr Harrison said everyone had a fantastic time.

“It was a very successful event. Lara’s Cheryl Cole routine was absolutely brilliant.

The pupils really enjoyed the day and lots of parents came to watch which was great.

“We would love to do something similar next year and are trying to get more singing and dancing into the curriculum because the children love it so much.”
