A WIDE variety of needlework - including one dating back to 1883 - has been adorning Worcester Cathedral's Chapter House in a fund-raising exhibition of crafts by a city group.
More than 600 people flocked to the Cathedral to see examples of quilting, embroidery, bead work and cross stitch by the Worcester branch of the Embroiders Guild, helping to raise more than £1,000 for the Cathedral's Music and Light Appeal.
The exhibition - which opened on Tuesday, August 15, and ran until Sunday - included specially loaned antique and modern quilts, and one found in America which was once used as a cover for a motor bike.
There was also live demonstrations of beading by member of the guild showcasing the age-old skills of needlecraft that continues today in Worcestershire.
The Cathedral's operational manager Susan Macleod said: "It was excellent and we were delighted with how it went and particularly by how much money was raised."
