A DOUBLE tragedy has hit a Stourport school after the death of a “loving” teenage karate star.

Dana Baker, aged 16, who was in voluntary foster care, was found hanged in Kidderminster near a busy roundabout.

She was discovered by a member of the public on land off the Worcester Road island at about 5.20pm last Thursday.

Flowers have been laid at the spot where the “bright” and “loving” teenager’s body was found.

The Stourport High School and Sixth Form Centre student was a member of the Koshinryu Academy of Martial Arts in Birmingham and represented Great Britain at the WUKO World Junior Karate Championships in Italy in 2008.

Her sudden death has come as a double tragedy for the Stourport school after the body of former pupil Bronnie Clewlow, 27, was found only three days before, on a field used by students.

Headteacher Liz Quinn described Dana in your Worcester News yesterday as an intelligent pupil who would be very sorely missed.

Police are treating Dana’s death as unexplained and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the matter.

An inquest has been opened and subsequently adjourned awaiting reports into the tragedy.
