Cocker spaniel Harry has proved that every dog has its day.
The four-legged friend has helped a Malvern nursing home win national recognition for the way it uses pets to brighten the lives of its residents.
Because of Harry, Bupa's Court House Nursing Home, Court Road, Barnards Green, entered the National Pet Week award, which promotes the benefits of animal ownership.
His owner, Lorraine Roberts, a unit manager at the home, takes him into the home every time she is on duty and he has become a firm favourite with residents.
Resident Alma Longstaff
said: "It brightens up my day if he is here."
Jackie Owen, activities organiser, said: "We recognise how important it is to have animals around for the wellbeing of residents."
National Pet Week plans to use Court House in its publicity as a good example of showing the therapeutic value of pets.
