PLANNING for a new bridal show set to hit the county is well under way, and the sponsor for the event is named today.

The Worcester News Three Counties Bridal Show on Sunday, October 22, is set to be the biggest wedding fair across Worcest-ershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

City bridal wear specialists Pronuptia have now put their name to an event that is set to have more than 100 stands exhibiting and selling everything from favours to flowers, as well as two fashion shows. Suzanne Easton, the manager of Pronuptia in College Street, said she was delighted to be the main sponsor.

"Although the first Pronuptia opened in 1958, it only came to Worcester this year so we are keen to let everyone know that we are here and the fantastic range of bridal wear we have on offer.

"As well as a stunning collection of wedding dresses, we also stock bridesmaid dresses, suits for the men to hire or buy, and also tiaras, veils, shoes - the list goes on."

And almost all of Pronuptia's range will be on show at the fair in October. Suzanne added: "It's going to be a great event and we are expecting lots of visitors, and as a special offer on the day there will be a 35 per cent discount on all of our dresses. There will be an area where brides-to-be can try on the dresses, and we will also be on hand to offer lots of advice on which style dress to go for.

"Currently, our most popular dresses are a very ornate lace nostalgic one with a beautiful fish tail, or a silk, full A-line gown with ornate beading on the bodice.

"But anyone getting married should come along on the day to find some real bargains."

The event follows the success of the twice-yearly Worcester News Wedding Fair held at the Fownes Hotel in City Walls Road.

The bridal show is in the showground's Severn Hall, accessible through the yellow gate, from 11am to 3.30pm on Sunday, October 22. Entry and parking are free. There will be lots for sale so remember to take cash or a cheque book, as there are no credit card facilities.
