BRIT Award winner Cee Lo Green wowed the crowd at a Worcester nightclub.

The American singer sang his two biggest hits – Forget You and It’s OK – for the party-goers at Bushwackers on Monday night.

Green had travelled from Birmingham, where he had been performing at the O2 Academy, for his after-show party in Worcester.

More than 200 people waited until almost 2am to hear him sing. When he got on stage, he didn’t disappoint them – and Worcester didn’t disappoint him either.

“I thought that it was wonderful,” said Green. “The energy from everyone was very positive, warm and genuine.

“I love to feel my love reciprocated. Will I be back? Of course.”

Your Worcester News received more than 100 entries to our competition to win party tickets and our competition winners were delighted.

Becky Whittall said: “What a great night. Cee Lo was brilliant and the Bushwackers’ management and staff could not have been nicer.

"They made us so welcome, looked after us and made sure we were involved in everything.

“It was our 19th wedding anniversary yesterday and winning tickets was a wonderful anniversary surprise.

"We’ve got to work out how to top that next year now.”

Darren Pinches, the owner of Bushwackers in Trinity Street, said: “People are always a bit sceptical about whether a big act such as Cee Lo would come to Worcester – and we proved he would.

“For the people who came, it was a magical evening. He stayed for about two hours in total.

"He seemed a really nice man, he sat and had a drink and signed lots of autographs.

“He really got involved. Normally, someone like that just comes and goes. It seemed like he really enjoyed himself.

“People got to see a very special act and instead of being in a massive arena, they got up close to him.”
