THIS group of young performers will be supporting a Worcester dancer as she battles it out for her place in a television competition.
The members of WODYS – Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Youth Society – will tonight be voting for former member Katie Love, who has made it into the final 20 of BBC One’s So You Think You Can Dance?
Miss Love, aged 24, will be dancing for her spot in the competition but needs people to vote to keep her in the running.
WODYS choreographer Rachel Price said: “Katie joined WODYS when she was 12 and spent four years here before she went onto Bird College – a specialist performing school – to continue her career.
“Katie’s family are all very much involved with WODYS. As well as Katie, her brother Chris was a member, her mother Sue worked in props and her father John was assistant stage manager. They still are very much involved in her dancing.
“In my eyes, she’ll do very well in this competition. She was always very enthusiastic and always on board what she was taught. As a performer, she always gave 110 per cent.
“All of us here at WODYS wish her the very best of luck and we are all supporting her.”
So You Think You Can Dance? is on tonight at 6.45pm.
