THE Duke of Gloucester has confirmed that he will visit the Three Counties Show this year.

He will attend the agricultural event on its opening day next Friday and will be met by the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Michael Brinton, his wife Angela, and the Lord Lieutenant’s Leading Cadet, Alleisha Fletcher.

The Duke will be escorted around the site by Three Counties Agricultural Society director Roy Phillips, meeting exhibitors, stewards, business representatives and members of the society’s council and staff.

He will also present long-service awards to local agricultural and commercial workers.

The Duke is the second son of the late Duke of Gloucester and the late Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, grandson of George V and a first cousin of the Queen.

The Three Counties Show runs from Friday to Sunday, June 17-19.

Visitors can expect a record number of cattle entries plus favourite attractions including the farming and equestrian villages and the regional food and drink hall.

A number of exciting events are also lined up for the main arena, including an appearance from Parachute Regiment freefall team the Red Devils.
