A PARTNERSHIP looking to improve the quality of life in the Malvern Hills is seeking feedback on its proposed new sustainable community strategy for the district.

Vision 21 Malvern Hills' draft strategy runs from 2006 to 2021 and sets out the partnership's views on the issues facing the district.

It will have an impact on everyone in the district as it will form a strategy from which other plans and strategies will be drawn.

The partnership - made up of organisations from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors - is now consulting across the district on its proposals.

It has identified three priorities for the district - addressing climate change, housing to suit everyone's needs, and economic viability.

Although these are seen as the key issues, the partnership recognises there are other areas that are also central to the well-being of people who live and work in Malvern Hills, including the need for a cohesive community, transport, equal opportunities, the environment and improving health and well-being.

It is proposed these and other issues will also be addressed in the community strategy. The consultation process will run through September and the public and organisations will have opportunities to comment.

Consultation meetings are being held at Priory Lodge Hall in Malvern's Avenue Road on Monday, September 18; The Pump Rooms in Tenbury Wells on Tuesday, September 19; Upton-upon- Severn Memorial Hall on Thursday, September 21; Martley Memorial Hall on Tuesday September 26 and Kempsey Parish Hall on Wednesday, September 27.

All meetings will start at 7pm.
