PATIENTS at Tenbury Community Hospital will soon have a newly refurbished hospital with upgraded facilities.
Since last November the hospital has been undergoing refurbishment following investment by NHS Worcestershire and a donation from the Tenbury Community Hospital League of Friends.
The hospital building will be upgraded and one of the wards extended.
Hospital matron Ginny Snape said: “All the patients and staff are absolutely delighted with the progress so far.
“We are all very much looking forward to moving patients into the bright new modern space where they will be able to benefit from the improved facilities”.
The work is set to cost about £1.4 million and will include four extra beds.
An air cooling and ventilation system, additional bathrooms and en-suite facilities as well as new nurse bases will be added, making nurses more visible to their patients.
The refurbishment project is set to be completed in autumn.
