THE President opened the meeting by welcoming 28 members to the June meeting.

The speaker, Mrs Prosser, had trained as a farm secretary, then became a policewoman and finally became a full-time farmer’s wife.

For a time, they had been hosts to foreign students and then organised the farmhouse to accommodate bed & breakfast.

The vote of thanks for the humorous and interesting talk was given by Ann Oakes.

The minutes were then taken as read. Members were reminded about the day at Croome Court on June 28.
