A CHILDREN’S roundabout has been installed in a Worcester shopping centre in a bid to brighten it up.

Groups are now being asked to put forward their ideas of what they would like to see on display in the old Face The Music shop in Cathedral Plaza.

Rozanne Pope, administration assistant at Land Securities which owns Cathedral Plaza, said the carousel ride was proving popular, but she would like to make the space more visually exciting for children, parents and passers-by.

She said: “Initially I was trying to source an old theatre backdrop – some scenery for the children’s ride – but thought it would also be good to promote local services or charities.

“With the school holidays coming up, it could also be used to promote any children’s events or workshops, ideas for the summer holiday, artwork or even just fun informative pieces, educational, on the environment or safety.”

Artwork can be suspended from the ceiling or placed behind a barrier. The unit is locked overnight.
