A SUMMER fayre brought bright smiles to the painted faces of children and adults alike.
Youngsters were spoiled for choice with a bouncy castle, face-painting and lots of balloons to keep them entertained at St John’s Church Summer Village Fayre in Worcester on Saturday.
Among those to get their faces painted and model some weird and wonderful objects made from balloons were Megan Reynolds, aged six, and four-year-old Nikki Stroud.
Later in the day there was children’s fancy dress and a novelty dog show.
There were also many stalls selling books, clothes, cakes, bric-a-brac and much more.
The fayre was held to raise funds for the church and for the church tower appeal which is still about £20,000 short of its £200,000 target.
The church not only has to raise money for the work on the tower but also other, general funds.
Ruth Reeves, one of the church wardens, said: “We are known as the church of the village in the city. We have a huge community. It’s an opportunity for people to come into the church.”
