THERE was plenty of horsing around for charity at Worcester racecourse.
Punters are more used to watching thoroughbreds tear across the turf at Worcester Racecourse but the going proved very good for the panto horses turning up to raise cash for St Richard’s Hospice.
Organisers of the event, now in its third year, estimated they raised £2,000 from the race.
Thankfully for the competitors in the hot weather, it was run on the flat.
Lizzie Brazier, hospice fund-raiser, said it was hard slog but the runners and riders showed plenty of competitive spirit.
“I think everyone enjoyed themselves,” she said. “They were all very competitive.”
Thankfully all the runners finished and the money they helped to raise now goes to provide free services for patients living with life-limiting illnesses at the hospice in Wildwood Drive.
